GIveaway Winner Announced {and} Halloween: is it Evil to Celebrate? Plus: This Years Trick or Drink List

Hello Friends!! How was your weekend?? Life was eventful as usual here - football games, a birthday party and preparations for a big camping trip kept us running!  Getting down to business: It's time to announce the winners of our For the Love of Fall giveaway from last week.  Please remember to contact me via e-mail as soon as possible if you are a winner.  You will have 48 hours to connect with me before I choose another winner to take your place. A big thank you to everyone who participated!! Without further adieu:
Scarf: Kim Turner
Coffee & Mug: Cee Shelton
CONGRATULATIONS!!
With Halloween just around the corner, it occurred to me that last year I wrote a post addressing the topic of Halloween and whether it is proper or not for Christians to participate in it.  I arrived at my answer through sort of a long and humiliating process, but I'm thankful that I took the time to disover the answers to my questions about the holiday.  Want to know what I found??...

Are your kiddos dressing up for Halloween??
I'd love to hear about their costumes and how you celebrate the holiday!

After Steve and I take the boys trick-or-treating, we usually need to treat ourselves in some way. It's a big job hauling 5 crazy boys around the country, trying to intercept candy that is being rapid-fired into their mouths by the fist full.  A couple of years ago, I started making a special cocktail for just the two of us, or for any of our friends whom we might be hanging out with.

This is a collection of cocktails that we've enjoyed in the past and a couple of new ones that I'm excited to try in the future:

If mixing up cocktails on a cool fall evening doesn't fit your groove, I've go something that will go great with your hot cup of tea or cider: Pumpkin Spice Latte Biscotti.

Have a wonderful week, everyone!!

  1. WooHoo - I'm so excited to have won the scarf - thank you!!!
I'm not a huge fan of Halloween - mostly just because I have never been into costumes. However, I'm very excited about trying out some of the Halloween cocktails - I pinned them so that I can try each and every one!

  2. I LOVE Halloween, but have often wondered why in the world we celebrate such a dark and twisted holiday. ;-) It's so funny to me. BUT, I think it's such a fun holiday and look forward to it every year. I absolutely love going Trick-or-Treating with the kiddos!
