Oh, those comments can be so difficult to endure, can't they?? Our post-baby tummies are like little badges of honor, there to remind us that we have been life-bearers! Hang in there! Then today, while I was at my Zumba class, my sweet Brazilian instructor asked if I was expecting. I'm NOT pregnant! Talk about getting back into my head and feeling 'fat' and worrying about what others think. Today was a little setback, but I can continue working on my thought life about myself. I believe all women deal with this to some degree, and especially after having children, where are bodies are no longer the same but forever changed, for the better. Unfortunately we don't always remember that! I still would like to lose weight, but the issue is no longer attached to a low sense of self-esteem. After seeing what my body could do bearing a child, and thanks to the way my husband sees me as unconditionally beautiful, I'm finally feeling happy with myself, so much so that the prospect of losing weight is no longer a terrible pressure always weighing on me, and more of a goal to be healthful and a good steward of God's gift of my body.

Nothing cures poor body image like unconditional love, and I pray every little girl feels this in some way, shape, or form.Christie @ Everything to Someonehttp://everythingtosomeone.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
